Caught up in war fever, Odigo leaves his new bride and goes to join the army. He is captured and cannot get in touch with his family. The thought of Celina, his wife, comforts him and gives him hope during his captivity. Bui when he is freed he finds things are not as he had expected at home Celina is married to another man who will not give her up. The visit of an itinerant trick cyclist brings matters to a tragic end.
